bluelab-intellidose-controller
Bluelab Intellidose Controller

The Bluelab IntelliDose Controller automates pH, irrigation and fertigation from a single wall-mounted unit. It monitors the nutrient solution continuously and doses nutrients, additives and pH adjuster to hold the conductivity and pH targets you set. The reservoir stays on its recipe between visits instead of drifting from one manual top-up to the next. What sets it apart is its scope. One controller can manage a blend of up to nine parts, or give some of those outputs over to irrigation stations, so the same box runs both the feed tank and the watering schedule. Bluelab position it for commercial growers, and it suits any system where hand-dosing has become the bottleneck.

The controller measures conductivity and pH, with temperature read at the same time. Conductivity can be displayed in EC, CF, ppm 500 (TDS) or ppm 700, so the numbers on screen can match the way your feed chart is written. The dosing is done by external peristaltic pumps that the controller switches on. The pH adjuster pump can be set to correct upward with alkali or downward with acid. Bluelab describe the dosing as proportional, and it works in both directions: when conductivity runs too high, the controller adds water to bring it back down rather than only ever adding nutrient. Separate day and night EC targets let feed strength follow the lighting cycle, and fail-safe shut-offs are built into the dosing side. Calibration, set points, alarms and configuration all sit on one large interactive screen. Running the dosing through peristaltic pumps also changes how the room is laid out. Every stock tank can stay on the ground, which makes larger pre-mixed batches practical, lowers the chance of leaks and spills, and cuts labour.

The IntelliDose suits NFT, DFT/DWC, soil, media, drip and aeroponic systems, and it is not tied to any one nutrient brand. Any line, liquid or powder, can be used once its dilution ratios are worked out, and the controller then holds the reservoir at that ratio around the clock. With irrigation configured, up to four outputs run separate irrigation stations on their own schedules, either from one shared reservoir or with a pump feeding each station. Irrigation can also be limited to daytime. The remaining outputs then handle a blend of up to five parts. The pumps themselves are separate from the controller: Bluelab peristaltic pumps are sold in three flow rates, and the Bluelab Power Relay R4 is available for electronic mains switching. Adding a Bluelab IntelliLink, also sold separately, connects the controller to the Edenic app. From there you get remote monitoring and control, history reporting, instant alarm notifications and the ability to trigger irrigation or change dosing levels from your phone. Before installing, work out the dilution ratio for each part of your nutrient line and decide how many outputs go to dosing and how many to irrigation. That split decides whether the controller runs a full nine-part blend or a five-part blend alongside irrigation stations.
