The AC Infinity Inline Fan Silencer is an in-duct muffler that absorbs the fan and airflow noise travelling inside a ventilation run, so a grow tent or equipment room can exhaust at full rate without broadcasting it through the house. It is the absorption half of AC Infinity's two-part noise fix: the canister treats sound carried in the airstream itself, while the companion AC Infinity Noise Reduction Clamp isolates the vibration that passes through rigid joins. It installs anywhere in the duct chain, most commonly on the exhaust side of an inline fan such as the AC Infinity Cloudline Pro T Mixed-Flow Inline Fan, and a genuinely quiet line runs both fittings together.
Construction runs from the outside in. The outer body is galvanised steel, corrosion resistant and able to take the heat and moisture of a hard-running exhaust line, while the interior is lined with high-grade neoprene foam moulded in an egg-crate profile that multiplies the absorbing surface presented to the airstream. The airway stays open bore rather than baffled, so the silencer passes full airflow while the foam soaks up the sound waves generated by fan vibration and moving air; AC Infinity rates the reduction at up to 50 percent. A reversible 3.8 cm (1.50") flange at each end couples directly onto fans, carbon filters and AC Infinity Ducting in the matching diameter.
Three sizes match the common fan diameters, and the canister grows with the bore: the 100 mm (4") unit measures 38.0 cm (14.96") flange to flange and weighs 1.04 kg (2.30 lb), the 150 mm (6") runs 53.0 cm (20.86") at 1.77 kg (3.90 lb), and the 200 mm (8") runs 68.4 cm (26.92") at 2.72 kg (6.0 lb). Outer body diameters step from 17.7 cm (6.97") on the 100 mm to 27.8 cm (10.94") on the 200 mm, noticeably wider than the duct itself, so allow that clearance when planning the run. The silencer treats airborne noise only; hum transmitted through rigid metal joins needs isolating separately at the connection. Beyond the tent it suits any inline application where duct noise carries, from bathroom ventilation to AV cabinets and server closets. Fitted on the exhaust side of a 150 mm fan, it adds 45.2 cm (17.79") of foam-lined bore to the run and strips airflow noise before it reaches the ducting.
NOTE: no duct clamps or foil tape are included. Secure and seal each flange connection with duct clamps or foil tape purchased separately.
