The AC Infinity Soil Sensor Probe is a corded soil moisture sensor designed exclusively for use with the Controller AI+, extending its automation out of the air and into the root zone. By reporting what the substrate is actually holding rather than inferring it from a schedule, it allows the controller to drive irrigation and dry-back alerts from real conditions, making watering responsive to the plant instead of to the clock.
The sensor detects soil moisture to within ±5% accuracy and refreshes its reading every second, giving the controller a continuous picture of conditions at root depth. The blade is constructed from corrosion-resistant fibreglass and rated IP67 for permanent placement in damp media, with depth graduations marked at 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 inch intervals so the same reading depth can be repeated across every pot. Its slim profile is shaped to slide between roots rather than sever them, allowing the probe to stay installed in a reference pot for the duration of a grow.
A detachable stem extends the assembly from 13.1 cm (5.15") to 43.4 cm (17.07"), placing the sensing element deep within larger fabric pots and raised beds where a surface reading reveals little. The sensor cord feeds through the stem before the stem twists onto the sensor body, and that same stem doubles as a funnel for delivering water slowly at depth. A 3.66 m (12 ft) UIS cord connects back to the controller, which logs readings alongside temperature, humidity, and VPD data in the AC Infinity app for tracking, automations, and alerts. Only one soil sensor may be connected per controller at a time, with sensor splitters sold separately to pair additional probes, and the sensor is intended for use with potting soil and potting mixes. Its detachable stem places the sensing element at true root depth, allowing the Controller AI+ to trigger irrigation and dry-back alerts from actual substrate moisture rather than a fixed daily schedule.
NOTE: this sensor is designed exclusively for the Controller AI+ and is not compatible with the Controller 69 Pro or other UIS controllers.
