Matching a third-party grow light to UIS control across the same growing environment starts with the AC Infinity UIS Lighting Adaptor and the control method used by the fixture's driver. The family covers jack-based dimming and direct connection to accessible driver control wires, but its versions are not interchangeable. A plug that fits does not prove the signal is compatible, and two lights carrying the same badge may still use different drivers. Selection must follow the exact fixture revision and specific driver protocol, with the precise mapping for every stocked adaptor version kept in Technical Specifications.
Each adaptor translates the UIS controller's command into the signal the driver understands; it does not supply mains power to the light. Once correctly matched, the fixture can follow the controller's brightness level, cycle, schedule or environmental trigger alongside other UIS equipment. Dimming behaviour still depends on the driver. AC Infinity warn that protocol variations can produce a limited control range, and some Type A fixtures may not switch on until the controller reaches a higher level. A controller firmware update through the AC Infinity app may also be required.
Compatibility should be checked against the exact fixture revision and driver before ordering. The same light series can use different adapters when one production run carries a self-branded driver and another uses a resistor-controlled driver. Some brands also require their own RJ adapter between the fixture and the AC Infinity dongle. Type A and Type B do not support lights with spectrum control, while Type D requires the driver's dimming wires to be physically accessible. Brand and model examples remain in Technical Specifications because they are useful only when read with these driver-level conditions.
NOTE: A lighting adaptor cannot power the UIS controller. AC Infinity require another powered UIS device or a suitable UIS power adapter to supply the controller before the connected light can be dimmed or scheduled.

Confirm which adapter the fixture needs from its driver rather than its connector: Type A for PWM or 0-10V, Type B for resistor control, and Type D for a driver built with DIM+ and DIM- control wires.
Check that the UIS controller is already powered by another UIS device, such as an inline fan, a clip fan or the UIS Control Plug, because AC Infinity state an additional UIS device is required to power the controller.
Update the controller's firmware through the AC Infinity app if prompted, since AC Infinity note an update may be required for the controller to work with the dongle.
Plug the adapter's male UIS connector into a spare port on the controller.
Type A and Type B: connect the light's RJ11 or RJ12 dimming plug into the adapter's jack, using the supplied 3.05 m (10 ft) RJ11/12 extension cord where the controller sits away from the fixture.
Type D: locate the driver's DIM+ and DIM- control wires, inspecting the driver box on the fixture for exposed dimming leads, then secure each wire into its matching + or - terminal.
Set the light's level, schedule or automation on the controller and confirm the fixture responds across the range, noting that AC Infinity flag a limited dimming range on some fixtures because each manufacturer's dimming protocol differs, and that on the Type A a fixture with a minimum voltage of 1 V or greater may not strike until set to a higher brightness level.
To add a second light on the Type A or Type B, AC Infinity note that once the first light is connected to the controller, further RJ11 or RJ12 lights can be added using that light manufacturer's own daisy chain method.
