The AC Infinity UIS RJ11/12 Lighting Adapter Type B translates a UIS controller's dimming signal into the resistor protocol, the analogue scheme a specific slice of RJ11/12-equipped grow lights uses in place of PWM or voltage dimming. Its compatibility list is the most driver-specific in AC Infinity's three-adapter family: Mars Hydro FC, FC-E, SP and TS series and Spider Farmer SE and SF series fixtures belong here when running MOSO or Meanwell drivers, alongside HLG models with the RJ 0-10V dimming box, Chilled Tech GROWCRAFT and Migro ARAY. The same Mars Hydro and Spider Farmer models with self-branded drivers pair with the AC Infinity UIS RJ11/12 Lighting Adapter Type A - PWM instead, so the driver label, not the brand on the light, decides which adapter to order.
Physically, the Type B is a black translation dongle on a 25.4 cm (10.00") cord with a 2.0 cm (0.78") head. The male UIS connector, 0.7 cm (0.26") deep, occupies one spare port on the controller, while the female RJ11 jack, 0.8 cm (0.30") deep, accepts the light's RJ11 or RJ12 dimming plug. Where a PWM fixture reads a pulsed signal on that line, a resistor-dimmed fixture reads resistance, and the adapter presents the controller's output in the form the driver understands, so dimming levels, schedules and automations built on the controller reach the light unchanged. A 3.05 m (10 ft) RJ11 extension cord is included, covering the distance from a light at canopy height to a controller mounted at the tent door.
The adapter works with the Controller 69, Controller 69 WiFi and Controller 69 Pro, and with the AC Infinity Ai+ Environmental Controller. It is not compatible with lights using PWM, voltage or spectrum-control protocols, and AC Infinity notes that some models dim across a limited range and that a firmware update through the AC Infinity app may be required. Lights that fit none of the three adapter protocols can still be switched on and off through AC Infinity's UIS Control Plug. Matched to the right driver, the Type B brings a resistor-dimmed fixture under controller automation its own analogue knob could never offer, without replacing the light or the driver.
NOTE: a lighting adapter does not power the controller. The controller must be running off another UIS device, such as an inline fan, clip fan or UIS outlet device, before any connected light can be dimmed or scheduled.
