Extra reach or a tighter plug angle is the job of the AC Infinity UIS USB C Extension Cable family, carrying power and control signals between a UIS controller and compatible AC Infinity equipment. With length shared, selection comes down to what each end must meet and whether the cable must turn sharply beside a housing or panel. The family covers direct controller-to-device runs and extension of a device's existing lead, with connector arrangements, controller support and dimensions kept in Technical Specifications.

AC Infinity publish the same layered construction across the range: copper conductors and a steel strength member surrounded by precision insulation, an aluminium inner shield and a rubber TPU outer shield. The shielding is useful in equipment-dense grow spaces, although the manufacturer does not publish a shielding-performance figure. UIS also carries more than a simple on-and-off command. A compatible device can power the controller while the same cable carries the level and operating mode used for triggers, timers, cycles and schedules.

Available plug arrangements cover practical jobs: keeping a connection close to a housing or panel, extending a factory-fitted device lead without replacing it, or joining female UIS ports directly. AC Infinity note that a suitable controller cord is normally included with UIS-compatible devices, so an additional cable is typically purchased for extra reach, replacement or tighter clearance rather than basic operation. The correct arrangement must be checked before purchase because the cable ends are not interchangeable.

NOTE: UIS is AC Infinity's proprietary USB-C-shaped connection and is not intended for USB data transfer or charging ordinary devices. Controller AI+ support differs by cable: AC Infinity list full advanced-function support for the female-to-male version, limited device-identification and advanced functions for the right-angle version, and no published Controller AI+ statement for the straight male-to-male version.

Directions for Use

  1. Choose the cable by what each end has to meet: a female-to-male cable couples onto the male plug of a lead already fitted to a device or splitter hub, while a male-to-male cable runs a controller port straight to a device port.
  2. On the L-shaped cable, plan for the right-angle plug to sit at the device, so the cord exits flat against its housing, and the straight plug at the controller.
  3. Plug the first connector into a UIS port on the controller and push it home until it seats at its 0.6 cm (0.23") depth.
  4. Route the cord clear of the power cords of HID grow light ballasts (MH, HPS, CMH or CHPS), which AC Infinity's Controller 69 Pro manual identifies as a source of radio frequency interference where the ballast carries no electromagnetic shielding.
  5. Connect the far end to the device's female UIS port, or, with the female-to-male cable, receive the device lead's male plug into the female head.
  6. Where a splitter hub shares one controller port, plug the primary device into Port 1; every other device on that splitter follows Port 1's programming, per AC Infinity's Controller 69 Pro manual.
  7. Plug the device's own mains cord into a wall outlet to power both the device and the controller, then set the port's level, triggers, timers or schedule at the controller or in the AC Infinity app.
