Biobest Bug Scan Dry makes regular crop scouting easier with a yellow sticky card that catches flying insects while leaving no sticky residue on the hands. Its hot-melt dry-glue format is intended to remove some of the mess of handling conventional wet-glue cards without changing the basic colour-attraction trapping method.
The card is made from durable, recyclable plastic with adhesive on both faces. Yellow attracts whitefly, fungus gnats, aphids and thrips, and a counting grid on one side helps organise the insects caught. The result is a compact monitoring surface for checking new pest arrivals and following existing activity during successive inspections.
Hang the cards in protected or outdoor crops and count catches at least weekly. The dry adhesive is what sets it apart from the classic wet-glue Bug Scan Trap. Keep the same card format and observation routine through a run of checks so the resulting records remain useful.
It comes as a single card or in packs of 10 or 20; the pack size changes only the number of cards, not the adhesive or the pests they target.
NOTE: These sticky traps cannot currently be used in Victoria.
