Bluelab Guardian Monitor
Continuous visibility between manual checks is the point of the Bluelab Guardian Monitor, which keeps pH, conductivity and temperature in view around the clock without requiring a walk-through first. Instead of capturing one reading during a walk-through, it watches all three parameters continuously and uses adjustable high and low alarms to show when conditions move outside the chosen limits. The stocked models share the same monitoring platform, display and remote connectivity. The main choice is whether the probes hang in a reservoir or mount into flowing pipework, with the exact fittings, pressure limits and measurement ranges kept in Technical Specifications.
A mains-powered display shows the three readings together using adjustable green LEDs designed for use around plants. Alarm settings remain stored through a power interruption, so the monitor does not lose its thresholds when power returns. Wi-Fi connects the unit to Bluelab Edenic for remote viewing and historical data, while Bluetooth is used during onboarding. This makes gradual drift easier to recognise and gives context to a sudden change that might otherwise be missed between spot checks. The monitor still works as a local display when remote access is not the priority.
The pH probe is replaceable and requires regular two-point calibration, beginning at pH 7.0 and followed by pH 4.0 or pH 10.0. Conductivity and temperature are factory calibrated, but their probe should still be cleaned and checked as part of routine maintenance. The pH tip must remain wet in KCl storage solution, including during any period when it is removed from the system. Mount the display where it can be read without exposing it to splashes, and position the probes where they remain in representative, moving solution rather than beside a concentrated dosing point.
The reservoir model suits tanks where the probes can hang together in the nutrient solution. The inline model is built for recirculating pipework and uses dedicated threaded probes rather than the suspended set. Selecting between them is therefore an installation decision, not simply a preference for a different display.
NOTE: Automatic temperature compensation applies to conductivity. For meaningful comparisons, the pH and conductivity-temperature probes should be exposed to the same representative solution, and inline pressure and fitting requirements must be confirmed before installation.

Directions for Use
expand_more
- Mount the monitor with the supplied screws where the display can be read.
- Connect the mains adapter using the plug type for your region.
- Place the pH and conductivity probes in the reservoir, or thread the Inline probes into the pipework.
- Pair the monitor to your phone over Bluetooth, then connect it to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Calibrate pH in two points: pH 7.0 first, then pH 4.0 or pH 10.0.
- Set the high and low alarm thresholds for each parameter.
- Clean the conductivity probe and the pH probe on a regular interval, and recalibrate pH after cleaning.
- Keep the pH probe tip wet in KCl storage solution whenever it is out of solution.
