Bugs for Bugs Banana Weevil Borer Pheromone draws both male and female banana weevil borers towards a compatible monitoring trap. It uses an aggregation pheromone for Cosmopolites sordidus, making it the attractant component of the trapping system rather than a trap on its own.
Use the lures with the banana weevil borer funnel trap to follow activity of this pest in a banana crop. A lure needs a suitable trap to retain visiting weevils, and the lure itself needs periodic replacement. The sealed pack contains replacement attractants for servicing existing traps or preparing further traps for deployment.
Store unused lures in the freezer until required and renew each field lure every 90 days. These replacements let a reusable trap stay in service while its attractant is refreshed.
