Bugs for Bugs Funnel / Bucket Trap provides a reusable housing for pheromone-based pest monitoring. It is suited to pests such as Heliothis and fall armyworm when used with the appropriate species-specific lure, helping collect moths for checking and identification during a monitoring programme.
The sturdy plastic assembly has a lid, lure basket, funnel, bucket base and wire hanger. The lure sits in the basket beneath the top, while the funnel leads into the collecting bucket. The parts fit together with a push-fit top and a twist-lock connection to the base, making the housing straightforward to assemble and service.
The trap body does not supply the pest-specific attraction on its own. Add the correct pheromone lure for the pest being followed and keep the lure and trap service intervals with that product. A separate insecticide strip can sit in the bottom of the bucket where its own directions allow.
For fall armyworm monitoring, a separately purchased DDVP cube kills moths promptly and helps keep them intact for identification. Neither a cube nor a lure is included with this trap. Check the applicable insecticide instructions before using an insecticide component, and keep the trapped specimens in a condition that allows reliable identification.
