Corteva Agriscience Naturalure
Corteva Agriscience Naturalure is a protein and sugar-based fruit fly bait concentrate containing spinosad. It combines a food attractant with an insecticide in one product for the control of Queensland and Mediterranean fruit flies. Adult flies detect the bait and feed on the deposits, allowing treatment as coarse spots or bands on vegetation rather than an overall cover spray.
The label covers various tree, fruit, nut, vine and vegetable crops and ornamentals, as well as fruit fly resting sites used in area-wide control programmes. Dilute and concentrated mixing options let the bait suit the application equipment and situation. A concentrated mixture can improve bait longevity and rainfastness, but its use still needs to follow the situation-specific directions on the label.
Monitoring and orchard hygiene remain important around the baiting programme. Begin treatment when monitoring indicates flies are present and fruit is susceptible, maintain the application interval and remove fallen or rotting fruit. Renew bait if rainfall washes deposits away. Repeated use of the same insecticide group can select for resistance, so the Group 5 classification belongs in the wider pest-management plan.
Coarse application to the lower canopy helps place the bait where it is intended. Avoid depositing it on the fruit itself: protein bait can blemish sensitive crops, particularly mangoes and pears, with risk increased by hot, dry conditions and repeated application to the same location. Alternate treated rows in a weekly spray programme as directed.
NOTE: Dangerous to bees during application. Do not spray flowering plants while bees are active, allow drift onto beehives or contaminate waterways. Some beneficial insects, particularly parasitoid wasps, may be affected. Read the full label before mixing or use.

Dilution Rate
- Foliar (crop spray): 1 part Naturalure + 6.5 parts water, 1 L concentrate per ha
- Foliar (dilute spot spray): 1 part Naturalure + 6.5 parts water, 50 ml per 1 m² spot, 150 spots per ha
- Foliar (concentrated spot spray): 1 part Naturalure + 1.5 parts water, 20 ml per 1 m² spot, 125 spots per ha
Application
- Shake well before use. Do not exceed the label rate.
- Use the crop spray on tree, fruit, nut, vine and vegetable crops and ornamentals. Use the spot sprays in area-wide programmes on non-crop vegetation and fruit fly resting sites.
- Add water to the tank (half the concentrate volume for a concentrated mix, equal to it for a dilute mix) and start agitation. Add the concentrate, then the remaining water. Agitate for at least 5 minutes before and during application, and use within 24 hours.
- Begin when monitoring traps show flies are present and fruit is susceptible. Repeat every 7 days, or sooner if rain washes off deposits. Use large droplets of 4 - 6 mm.
- Distribute spots evenly through the orchard, alternating the rows treated in weekly programmes. For a band spray, treat a 1 m wide band to the skirt of the trees on one side of every row, or every second row.
- After spraying, rinse the equipment twice with clean water. Remove fallen or rotting fruit.
Safety
May irritate eyes. Avoid skin and eye contact. If product enters the eyes, wash out immediately with water. Wash hands, arms and face with soap and water after use and before eating, drinking or smoking. The plant proteins may cause an allergic response; use gloves and face protection if concerned.
Dangerous to bees. Do not spray plants in flower when bees are active and prevent spray or drift onto hives. Once the deposit is dry, foraging bees are not affected. Some parasitoid wasps and other beneficial insects may be affected, so consider compatibility with the IPM programme.
Do not allow product or containers into dams, ponds, waterways or drains. Do not apply in strong winds or conditions causing drift onto adjacent pastures, crops or water supplies. Do not burn containers or product.
If swallowed, contact the Poisons Information Centre (13 11 26) or a doctor immediately. Do not induce vomiting unless directed by them and do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek medical attention immediately if breathing difficulties occur.
Keep out of reach of children. Store in the closed original container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area out of sunlight, away from food, feed, fertilisers and seeds.
