Russell IPM Optiroll Super creates an extended sticky trapping surface for flying pests in protected crops. Its patterned tape combines colour attraction with a distinctive design intended to increase capture. The yellow roll targets a broader group including whitefly, fungus gnats, aphids and thrips; the blue roll is aimed at thrips.
The roll format suits crop rows and perimeter placement, putting a continuous interception surface where insects move through the growing area. Russell IPM attributes the blue design's attraction to its colour wavelength and patented pattern. The adhesive is long-lasting and water-repellent, with roll strength and colour maintained over several months.
Use a compatible sticky-roll holder to support installation along rows or around the crop perimeter. It suits protected vegetables, berries, ornamentals and propagation. Keep each colour tied to its target when deciding where the roll goes and when interpreting the insects caught.
The blue and yellow rolls share the same size, so colour is the only choice to make. The continuous format is useful where the trapping surface needs to follow a row rather than a series of separate points. Position the roll to suit the crop and maintain the target distinction between blue and yellow when comparing catches.
NOTE: These sticky traps cannot currently be used in Victoria.

Safety
For the blue roll, wear gloves and provide good ventilation. Avoid high temperatures, ignition sources and strong oxidising agents.
For the blue roll, wash skin with soap and water after contact. Rinse eyes with water for several minutes; seek medical advice if irritation occurs. If swallowed, rinse the mouth and do not induce vomiting.
Dispose of blue-roll waste through an appropriate licensed waste-disposal route; do not contaminate water with waste.
Store the blue roll cool, dry and well ventilated, protected from sunlight.
