SeaHawk Acoustic Rockwool Ducting does a good job of reducing fan and airflow noise transmitted through the ducting, and once it is installed properly, it works well.
The main issue is the design at each end. The internal ducting is surrounded by rockwool and then covered by the external ducting, which leaves the insulation exposed where it connects to a fan, filter or flange. This makes it quite awkward to install and easy to damage if it is handled or transported multiple times.
It would be a much better product if each end had a small built-in collar or exclusion barrier that contained the rockwool and allowed it to connect directly to standard flanges without having to manage the exposed insulation.
It is also worth keeping in mind that acoustic ducting will not eliminate all ventilation noise. It reduces fan and airflow noise travelling through the ducting, but the air can still be quite noisy once it exits, particularly at higher airflow rates.
Once installed, the ducting is good quality and performs well, but it is frustrating to handle, difficult to repack after being unfurled, and the end design could definitely be improved.
