AC Infinity Multifan Mini USB Axial Fan
The AC Infinity Multifan Mini USB Axial Fan is the smallest member of the Multifan family, a 40 mm USB-powered fan built for the spaces nothing else in the range can enter: controller housings, LED driver boxes, router shelves and other ventilated electronics enclosures. Where the AC Infinity Multifan USB Axial Fan starts at an 80 mm frame, the Mini's 4.0 x 4.0 x 2.0 cm (1.6 x 1.6 x 0.8 in) body slips beside heatsinks and between components, putting moving air directly onto hot electronics that would otherwise sit in still air.
The Mini makes up for its size with speed. A 40 mm impeller riding on dual ball bearings spins at 6000 RPM, several times faster than the larger axial models, and generates 4.2 mm H2O of static pressure - the highest figure in the entire Multifan family. That pressure is what makes a tiny fan genuinely useful: it drives its 20 m³/h (12 CFM) through grille openings, vent slots and cramped internal passages where the output of a bigger, slower fan would stall against the restriction. The bearings carry a 67,000 hour L10 rated life, the motor draws 0.6 W (0.12 A) from any 5 V DC USB port rated 500 mA or higher, and AC Infinity rates the noise at 18 dBA. A 132 cm (4 ft) cord runs from the USB plug to an inline three-speed controller, with a 65 cm (2 ft) length from controller to fan, while detachable anti-vibration silicone feet let the unit lie flat or stand upright; mounting holes spaced 3.2 cm (1.26 in) apart accept screws for permanent installation.
A built-in USB port on the fan body chains up to four fans from one power source, with downstream units following the controller closest to the supply. The Mini operates from -18 to 70°C (0 to 158°F) and 35 to 85% relative humidity, mounts in any orientation, and flips over to draw air away from a component instead of blowing onto it. It is an electronics-cooling fan rather than a room circulator - for moving air across shelves or around a tent, the larger frames and the low-profile AC Infinity Multifan USB Centrifugal Blower take over. Sold as a single 40 mm unit. Its high-pressure airflow clears heat out of ventilated housings through the vent slots the enclosure already has, with no wiring beyond a spare USB port.
NOTE: USB fans are ineffective in fully sealed enclosures - air must be able to flow in and out of the space through vents or openings. Multifan units are not designed for outdoor use, filter attachment or through-wall mounting, and splicing or hardwiring the USB cords voids the warranty.

- Stand the fan upright or lie it flat on its anti-vibration feet inside the enclosure, facing the component to be cooled, or remove the feet and screw the frame in place through the mounting holes spaced 3.2 cm (1.26 in) apart.
- Check the enclosure has openings for air to enter and leave; the fan cannot cool a fully sealed box.
- Flip the fan over to switch between blowing onto the component and drawing air away from it.
- Plug the USB connector into a dedicated port rated 500 mA or higher.
- Select low, medium or high on the inline controller; the same switch turns the fan off.
- To run several fans from one port, daisy-chain up to four units through the USB port on the fan body and set the chained fans to high.
- Note that some electronics keep their USB ports live when switched off; the fan continues running unless its controller is set to off.
