AC Infinity Refillable Carbon Filter
The AC Infinity Refillable Carbon Filter is a patented duct-mounted odour filter for grow tents, grow rooms and ventilation lines that opens for recharging rather than being discarded when the carbon is spent. Where the sealed AC Infinity Carbon Filter is replaced as a complete unit at the end of its service life, this filter twists apart so the carbon bed becomes the only consumable, keeping the steel body in service grow after grow. It suits growers running a continuous exhaust line who would rather buy charcoal by the bag than a whole new filter every cycle or two.
Construction starts with a dual-layered mesh of rust-resistant galvanised steel in a gunmetal finish, powder-coated and sandblasted, with hexagonal openings shaped for maximum air passthrough in either direction, so the same filter serves on intake or exhaust duty. Behind the mesh sits a 38 mm carbon bed loaded with Australian Virgin RC412 activated charcoal at grade 1200+ IAV, the bed thickness identical across all three sizes. Both end flanges are aluminium, reversible and twist off by hand, with the refill port sealed by a rubber stopper; the hanging hooks fasten to the flanges rather than the mesh, so the body never carries the load. Refilling means twisting off the port flange, removing the stopper, pouring out the spent carbon (which can be composted) and packing fresh charcoal in evenly with the included funnel and scoop, stopping at the plastic barrier. Swapping the flanges end for end every so often works the full depth of the bed and stretches each fill further, a serviceable design AC Infinity protects under US Patent 11,642,614 B1.
Three sizes are available, each rated by AC Infinity for maximum airflow: the 100 mm (4 in) at 357 m³/h (210 CFM), the 150 mm (6 in) at 697 m³/h (410 CFM) and the 200 mm (8 in) at 1,308 m³/h (770 CFM), pairing size for size with the AC Infinity Cloudline Pro T Mixed-Flow Inline Fan. Bodies measure 30.0 x 17.9 cm (11.81 x 7.04 in), 40.5 x 22.7 cm (15.94 x 8.93 in) and 50.3 x 27.8 cm (19.80 x 10.94 in) respectively. Each kit ships with the carbon bed already loaded plus an extra refill bag, two washable prefilter cloths, two ladder-lock filter straps, two rope clip hangers, a steel scoop and a carbon funnel. AC Infinity rates each fill for one to two grow cycles depending on fan speed and running time; from there the AC Infinity Activated Carbon Refill is the direct consumable, a 3.63 kg (8 lb) bag giving two fills of the 100 mm or one of the 150 mm. The range tops out at 200 mm, so rooms ducted at 250 or 300 mm need the sealed filter instead. Its twist-off flanges let the spent bed be poured out, composted and repacked with fresh charcoal, so one steel body carries odour control across every grow cycle that follows.
NOTE: this filter is not suitable for flammable, explosive, chemical-laden or wet atmospheres, and ducted exhaust must always vent to an outdoor area.

Directions for Use

- Mount the filter inside the tent for intake duty or on the fan's exhaust end for exhaust duty, hanging it from the flange hooks with the included straps or rope clip hangers.
- Fit ducting over the flange and secure it with duct clamps, or clamp the filter directly onto an inline duct fan; ducting tape at the joins is optional.
- For intake use, slip a prefilter cloth over the outside of the filter; for exhaust use, stuff the prefilter inside the filter body.
- In humid spaces, position the filter at the highest point possible.
- Periodically twist off both flanges and swap them end for end with the filter laid horizontal; this works the full depth of the carbon bed and extends each fill.
- Wash the reusable prefilter cloths as needed.
- To refill, twist off the port flange, remove the rubber stopper and pour out the spent carbon, then use the funnel and scoop to pack fresh carbon evenly and firmly, never filling past the plastic barrier.
- Re-seat the rubber stopper with its nodes aligned to the holes, then twist the flange back on.
- Replace the carbon when odours begin to reappear; spent charcoal can be composted.
