AC Infinity UIS Control Wire Lighting Adapter Type D
The AC Infinity UIS Control Wire Lighting Adapter Type D takes UIS lighting control straight to the LED driver, bypassing the light's dimming port entirely. Where the RJ-port members of the family, the AC Infinity UIS RJ11/12 Lighting Adapter Type A - PWM and the AC Infinity UIS RJ11/12 Lighting Adapter Type B - Resistor, need an RJ11/12 dimming port on the fixture, the Type D lands the driver's DIM+ and DIM- control wires in a pair of screw terminals. That approach is why AC Infinity describes it as the broadest-compatibility adapter of the family: any LED grow light running a Meanwell, Sosen, MOSO or Inventronics driver with dim +/- cables is a candidate, regardless of the brand printed on the fixture.
The adapter runs a 25.4 cm (10.00") cord to a 1.8 cm (0.71") head, the slimmest in the family. The male end is a UIS connector, 0.7 cm (0.26") deep, that plugs into a spare port on the controller; the working end replaces its siblings' RJ jack with a +/- terminal block that clamps the driver's bare DIM+ and DIM- leads, no plug involved. Through those two wires the adapter passes the controller's output as the dimming control wire signal the driver reads on its control line, so intensity levels, schedules and automations set on the controller act on the driver itself. Because the signal is taken at the driver rather than at a moulded port, the light's port format stops mattering; only the driver has to carry dim +/- wires.
Access to those wires varies by fixture: AC Infinity notes that some drivers route the dimming wires out for convenience, while others require opening the driver chassis to reach them, so confirm where the DIM+ and DIM- leads sit before ordering. The manufacturer lists compatibility with the Controller 69, the AC Infinity Controller 69 Pro and later models with UIS connectors, and notes that dimming range varies with each driver's protocol and that a firmware update through the AC Infinity app may be required. Unlike its RJ-port siblings, no extension cord is included in the box, so allow for the short 25.4 cm (10.00") adapter cord when planning where the controller mounts. The result is dimming automation for fixtures the RJ-port adapters cannot reach, run from the same screen that already controls the tent's fans.
NOTE: a lighting adapter does not power the controller. The controller must be running off another UIS device, such as an inline fan, clip fan or UIS outlet device, before any connected light can be dimmed or scheduled.
