The AC Infinity UIS RJ11/12 Lighting Adapter Type A is the PWM and 0-10V member of AC Infinity's three-adapter lighting family, made for third-party grow lights whose RJ11/12 dimming port runs a PWM or 0-10V protocol. It carries the widest brand coverage of the family, with AC Infinity naming 14 compatible brands including Mars Hydro, Spider Farmer, Viparspectra, Vivosun, Lumatek and PhotonTek, and it hands dimming and scheduling of those fixtures to a UIS controller such as the AC Infinity Controller 69 Pro.
The adapter itself is a compact translation dongle on a 25.4 cm (10.00") cord with a 2.0 cm (0.78") head. One end is a male UIS connector, 0.7 cm (0.26") deep, that seats into any spare port on the controller; the other is a female RJ11 jack, 0.8 cm (0.30") deep, that accepts both RJ11 and RJ12 plugs from the light's dimming cable. Between the two, the adapter converts the controller's UIS control signal into the PWM or 0-10V signal the fixture's driver expects, so a level, schedule or automation set on the controller passes straight through to the light. A 3.05 m (10 ft) RJ11 extension cord is included in the box, giving the run enough reach to connect a fixture hung over the canopy to a controller mounted outside the tent.
The adapter comes in black and works with the Controller 69, Controller 69 WiFi, Controller 69 Pro and Controller AI+. It does not suit every RJ-port light: fixtures using spectrum control or a resistor dimming protocol are not compatible, with resistor models covered by the AC Infinity UIS RJ11/12 Lighting Adapter Type B - Resistor instead. Mars Hydro and Spider Farmer owners should check the driver label before ordering, since self-branded drivers pair with Type A while MOSO and Meanwell drivers need Type B. AC Infinity notes that dimming range can be limited on some models, that some fixtures have minimum voltage thresholds which may prevent activation at the lowest brightness settings, and that a firmware update through the AC Infinity app may be required. Once connected, the light's intensity follows the controller's levels, schedules and automations alongside the UIS fans already on the network, all from a single interface.
NOTE: a lighting adapter does not power the controller. The controller must be running off another UIS device, such as an inline fan, clip fan or UIS outlet device, before any connected light can be dimmed or scheduled.

Directions for Use

Disconnect any external dimmer or dimming cable from the grow light's RJ11/12 dimming port.
Connect the light's dimming port to the adapter's female RJ11 jack, directly or through the included 3.05 m (10 ft) RJ11 extension cord.
Plug the adapter's male UIS connector into a spare UIS port on the controller.
Make sure the controller is powered by another UIS device, such as an inline fan; the adapter does not power the controller.
If the light does not respond, update the controller's firmware through the AC Infinity app, then set dimming levels and schedules from the controller.
