HVC Smart Speed Controller
The HVC Smart Speed Controller is a temperature-driven controller for EC inline fans that delivers precise, stable airflow control without the need for a separate power supply. It draws power from the connected EC fan and uses an NTC thermal probe to read room temperature in real time.
Two operating modes provide flexibility: Auto mode maintains a user-set temperature by automatically adjusting fan speed in steps, while Manual mode holds a constant speed for fixed extraction. A programmable high-temperature alarm can override settings to protect the environment when conditions exceed your threshold.
The unit provides four 3.5 mm control outputs to manage up to four compatible EC fans from a single controller, keeping wiring tidy and control centralised. Clear on-device controls make setup quick, and wall-mount hardware is included for a clean installation.
Designed specifically for Headwind HVC EC fans (and other EC fans using the same control interface), this controller focuses on dependable temperature-based control. Humidity targets, scheduling and light-based modes are reserved for the separate HVC Smart EC Fan Controller PRO.

Key Highlights
expand_more

- Provides Auto (temperature-holding) and Manual (fixed-speed) operating modes for precise ventilation control.
- Controls up to four EC fans simultaneously via four 3.5 mm control outputs for centralised management.
- Uses an NTC thermal probe to monitor room temperature and adjust fan speed intelligently.
- Speed steps 0–6 correspond to approximate output levels from low to full speed (0%, ~15%, ~32%, ~50%, ~67%, ~83%, 100%).
- In Auto mode, the controller ramps speed in steps as the measured temperature moves above or below the set point.
- A configurable high-temperature alarm can drive the fan(s) to maximum speed to protect plants and equipment.
- Fan-failure detection and on-screen error prompts help diagnose wiring or device issues quickly.
- Powers directly from the connected EC fan, so no separate power supply is required for the controller.
- Wall-mount bracket and screws are included for clean, secure installation at eye level.
- Designed for HVC EC fans and other EC fans that use the same 3.5 mm control interface; not compatible with AC fans.
Directions for Use

- Setup & Installation
Mount the controller on a wall using the supplied bracket and screws. Route the thermal probe to canopy height away from direct light or heat sources. Connect EC fans to the OUT1–OUT4 ports with the supplied 3.5 mm leads and secure all cables neatly. - Power & Control
The controller powers from the connected EC fan. Plug in the probe, connect at least one fan, then power the fan. Select Auto or Manual mode using the front controls. Set the target temperature and choose a baseline speed (0–6). - Operation & Tuning
In Auto mode, the controller holds your set point by stepping speed up or down as temperature drifts. Use a higher baseline speed for heavy filter/duct resistance and a lower baseline for light loads. In Manual mode, select speed 0–6 for constant extraction when a fixed airflow is preferred. - Maintenance
Inspect monthly to ensure the probe is secure and free of dust, cables are undamaged, and connectors are fully seated. Review alarm and baseline settings seasonally as ambient conditions change. No internal servicing is required.
Disconnect from fans, coil cables without kinks, and store the controller and probe in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture.
